Weigh-in 304#

We were inspired by Rachel Ray's "Tasty Travel's" show to try dinner at Dip
Not surprisingly, given Rachel's obvious drinking problem, it is more of a bar than restaurant. Pretty reasonably priced though, especially if you do your drinking during happy hour (5$ Appletini's and Cosmopolitan's, $3 Brooklyn Lager's). We make better fondue at home, but this wasn't bad.

Dessert was a "Shackaplooza" (five scoops of icecream, four toppings, whipped cream and cherries) which is that thing in the bucket on the menu: Shake Shack We split it four ways, and it was still alot of icecream.

Ok fill me in here, do you really think Rachel Ray has a drinking problem? I mean, I know she's annoyingly perky as all get out...

Adam,
It did remind me of "Swensons". I am sure the Ice cream is much better at Shake Shack, though.

Taylore,
I think she does have a drinking problem. She has that flushed look of a drunk, which was not evident a couple of years ago on her early shows. It wouldn't surprise me at all if she turns out to be a full blown alcoholic.

While we are at it, here hair doesn't look natural anymore with the crazy highlights she always has. And since I already went there, if you watch her earlier shows, she's was much quiter and significantly more shy (shyer) back when. Not as perky, and less annoying. Hey, could the flushed look be the gobs of makeup they pile on her?

And couldn't her new perkiness be coming out of a bottle? She also seems unable to pass up a chance at a drink on $40 a day, yet often barely touches her food.

Does she wear more make-up than other foodtv personalities? The three I have met in person (Flay, Moulton, and Torres) all pretty much look and sound the same as they do on TV.

I don't dislike Ms. Ray, but I am surprised at her incredible popularity, even with the more mainstream (non-"foodie") male population. Millions of guys went nuts over that pictorial she did in FHM.

I guess she is doing something right with FOUR shows on the Food Network. My two favorites (Sara Moulton and Jaques Torres) only have one each.

Amazing how much better I feel after reading posts like 9/17/05. Thank you Robert W. When you think about herbal life weight loss product, how long do you think that sort of thing would normally take?
